TAKE PART IN THE EFFORT TO CHANGE OUR WAYS http://globalgreen.org/programs/climate/pledge.cfm
When I was eleven I started my first environmental club "Earth Savers". My friend and I went around gathering up scattered trash, planting baby trees, selling lemonade and giving the proceeds to organizations such as Green Peace. We may not have made a large impact but our intentions were pure and sencere. I later joined Ohio Citizen Action when I was seventeen, with this grass roots orginization I learned how to canvas, get petitions signed, hold candle light vigils, and peaceful protests. It was good to see we could make an impact. Still, I felt the major problems facing the planet were out of our league. How could any small group mend such wounds? As I explore and seek others of similar interests, I have been graciously overwhelmed by the vast number of civil and environmental groups out there! An article I read from Orion Magazine, was written by a guy who has been researching the phenomenon of the postive change movement and he is convinced that there are millions of groups and countless members all working for a better cause! The more I search, the more inspired I become to find so many brothers and sisters of this human family consciously making an effort!....... Namaste!
